Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 Jun 2026

Who we are

We are Intelli-UA (“we”, “us”), the developer of public Shopify apps.

If you install or use one of our apps, this Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

Contact us at: contact[at]intelli-ua.com

Information we collect

When you install and use our app, we may access certain data through the Shopify API, including:

  • Store data: store name, store domain, email.
  • App usage data: actions taken in the app, settings, logs.
  • Customer data (optional, app-dependent): order information (order ID, purchased items) or customer details (name, email, shipping address) only when required for app functionality.

We only request access to the minimum data needed for the app to work.

How we use your information

We use the collected data to:

  • Provide and operate the app.
  • Authenticate and support merchants (Shopify store staff and administrators).
  • Analyze and improve app performance.
  • Comply with Shopify’s requirements and applicable laws.

We do not sell or rent your data.

We process personal data under the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract (providing app functionality),
  • legitimate interests (security, analytics, improvements),
  • legal obligations (compliance with applicable laws),
  • consent (where required).

When providing the app to merchants, we act as a data processor on behalf of the merchant, who is the data controller of customer data processed through Shopify.

Data may be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area, including Canada and the United States, where Shopify and our infrastructure providers operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

We may share data with trusted service providers including:

  • Shopify Inc. (platform infrastructure)
  • Amazon Web Services (hosting)
  • Sentry (error monitoring)
    These providers process data under contractual safeguards.

Data retention

  • We keep data:
    • Logs are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes;
    • Shopify store config is retained until uninstall;
    • Backups: 7-90 days;
    • Legal records: per law.
  • If you uninstall the app, we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period after app uninstallation unless retention is required for legal or security purposes.

Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

These measures include the use of encryption in transit, access controls, authentication mechanisms, monitoring and logging, and the use of reputable cloud infrastructure providers. Access to personal data is restricted to persons who require such access for the operation, maintenance, security, or support of the Service.

While no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, we take reasonable measures designed to protect personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Merchants responsibility

Role under GDPR

When merchants use our Shopify app, the merchant acts as the data controller of customer data. Intelli-UA acts as a data processor and processes such data only on the merchant’s instructions and for the purpose of providing the app’s functionality.

Merchants are responsible for ensuring they have obtained any necessary permissions from their customers before using our apps.

Data Subject Requests and Security Incidents

Where we process personal data on behalf of merchants, we will provide reasonable assistance to merchants in responding to requests from data subjects to exercise their rights under applicable data protection laws, including requests for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, to the extent required and reasonably possible given the nature of the processing.

We maintain procedures designed to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents involving personal data. In the event of a confirmed personal data breach affecting data processed through our app, we will notify the affected merchant without undue delay after becoming aware of the breach and will provide available information necessary for the merchant to comply with applicable legal obligations, including data breach notification requirements.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices. Updates will be posted with a new “Effective Date.”
